A recent survey of religious beliefs from members of a large Lutheran church body revealed that 41% did not believe in hell.

Since hell is mentioned in the Bible it seems hard to believe that any Lutheran would not believe in its existence. The Bible says that hell was the place God made for the devil and all other evil angels. It also says that those who do not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as their all-sufficient Savior from the consequences of one's sins will be condemned to spend an eternity in hell.

If a Lutheran does not believe in hell it can only be because he or she does not regard the Bible as God's Word and, therefore, does not believe that all of its words are true and truth.
