A recent survey of religious beliefs gathered from members of a very large Lutheran Church body revealed the following:

Nearly three-fourths (73 percent) believe that homosexuality should be accepted; 65 percent approve of same sex marriage.

If you were taught and/or now believe that people cannot help but be gay because they were born that way or that  homosexuality is just an alternative lifestyle then of course you will accept and approve of it.

But if you are truly a Christian and believe that every word in the Bible is true and truth then you will believe what it says. And it says that while we are all born sinful no one is born with the "gay" gene and therefore destined to be so. The Bible also says that homosexuality is not normal but rather a perversion of the natural order of things as ordained by God. The Bible also says that marriage as established by God is the union of one man and one woman.

If seems to me that it is awfully difficult to believe wholeheartedly in the Christ of the Bible as your all-sufficient Savior from sin but at the same time not believe all of what the Bible says as true.
